Too Quiet

Joe is doing well. His temperature was up a little last night, and back to normal this morning. I am washing sheets, watering, and cooking today.
I am missing my two little cookie monsters. They will be here on Monday about 8am. Kylie called to tell me she was bringing cookies yesterday, but have not seen them yet.

Joe's Movin On

Joe is doing good. We kept the meds going all night. The pain meds make him pretty unsteady. He is enjoying his morning paper while I made him "Pigs in a blanket" (his favorite breakfast).
Let me tell you about Mom's adventure bringing us home yesterday. I get out of the car , while shr is helping Joe. When I head for the sidewalk, I have to ask if I'm going to hit our tree. My bearings were off and I needed to get around the tree. Got the door unlock and the alarm off. Mom is at the steps with Joe. When he gets to the door, he want to check the mail himself. He has been expecting a package. I'm holding the door, telling him to get in so the Liz does not get out. Mom gets him in and settled in the chair, and leaves to go get a script. Yes! Sisters I did preplan on having his script here and waiting, but the doctor decided to give him something different. Mom leaves for a second and returns because Liz is running all over the front yard. When I answer the front door Liz dashes in and Mom dashes off to Walgreens. She is a great Help. Thanks for all the help yesterday and always. We love you.

MMmmm Cookies

Hayli spent the night with Gracie, so Kylie packed her suitcase with fun stuff to come to our house. Earlier we mixed up some cookie dough and were baking them when she arrived. What a suprise for all of us. She ate several and then helped us deliver them to a couple of neighbors. This morning we took some to Grandma J and visited with Spencer, Buster, and Rowdy. Even though the boys did not get cookies, they gave plenty of kisses .
Here is the recipe
These cookies are chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside - even the next day.

Hangin' Out

A busy week for us... - Joe is getting ready for a small hernia surgery on the 22nd. - I've been trying to fix and clean out the computer. Setting up a desktop for the Girls to play Webkinz. - Getting the kids out to enjoy the besutiful weather we are having. - And the big one - "POTTY TTRAINING". There are good days and bad, and Joe and I are determined to have more of the good days. - On Tuesday, we went to "Economy Corner" (a used clothing place). Kylie was delighted to see the "B's" (crocheted Blankets) and promtly picked one out, laid it on the floor and pretend to sleep. She kept telling me how perfect it felt. Hayli spotted a king-sized waterbed sheet to use as a tent, which this was the reason for our little shopping trip. They had so much fun making tents this week. Our kitchen table and chairs helped hold it up. - Hayli learned how to make pesto with Pawpaw's help. It was delicous!

Fishing with Pawpaw

On July 1, Pawpaw and Hayli made off without Kylie and I for a morning fishing excursion. Joe tested several homemade lures successfully. He has started tying his own lures and is enjoying thiis new hobby.

I'm not sure who was more excited about catching the Bullfrog. The story was gleefully repeated to all. Pawpaw says, "Hayli fishes like a pro".

Kylie is 3

Singing "Happy Birthday" to a speachless, shy Kylie.

Presents... Oh My!

On this next video - Grandma did not do a great job on Kylie's face at bathtime and did not notice until this video pic was finished. I'm sure Aunt Kat could have fixed the dirty face pic. Prior to cake face, she ate M&M's before opening presents. What a mess and she had fun

Hayli also received a small gift at the party - a snorkle and mask.

Summer

Summer heat hit fast, but a cool front came in and we had a wonderful morning at Minisa Park (a.k.a. Kylie Park) Grandpa went across the street to get his hair buzzed while we played. This park has 2 mega phones and the kids can talk to each other. One on the ground and the other on top the playgym. Kylie pictured below is by one of the mega phones. Phia check out Kylie's boots.
It was not that cold - she just loves her boots.
