Boeing/Spirit Christmas Party

What a fun time these two had at the Christmas Party. Rode all sorts of rides, played games, made 8 ornaments, and best of all sat on Santas lap. I wish Kylie would have smiled big, because she is missing her two front teeth. Kylie brought her Christmas List Book, but Santa did not look at her book. Hayli did not want to sit on Santa's lap, but I coaxed her to do it for the picture.

oh Pumpkins

Kylie packed her Ladybug Lunchbox and was going to a school outing to get a pumpkin, roast seeds, and who knows what. She was so excited to get to school. She is all about food and FUN. Hayli also got to pack her lunch. She was not going to the Pumpkin Patch. Grandpa put a root beer candy in her lunchbox. Oh the house is full of yummy smells. - Sweet Pepper Relish is canned - Applebutter is condensing in the crockpot. Oh the aromas! Tommorrow is a special batch of Applesauce... maybe 2 batches.

The Fuji's are here

Finnally! Did not think they would get here. The air has a touch of chill. What a great day to start the "Canning of the Harvest". I am getting the "Old Fashioned Applebutter" and the "Sweet Pepper Relish" started today. Both recipes take 2 days, so tomorrow I can get them canned. Jason and Lisa have decided on a name... Maci Jo. Lisa is really BIG and baby Maci is very active. I think we might have the arrival before January 1st.

Hayli is Coming Home

Lisa, Kylie, and Jamie (Lisa's friend) headed out to MO this morning to pick up Hayli. She has been sick and will be coming home sooner than expected. Hayli does not know they are on the way to bring her home. She will be very upset. I miss her and although Kylie says she does not miss her - I think she does.

Forgotten in Camera

We recently pulled out the video camera to shoot Kylie's preschool graduation. We found her preschool Christmas program and this shy encounter with Santa. I especially like Jason's audio reactions.

Jason, Lisa, Hayli, and Kylie are expecting a new arrival in January. Joe and I are excited about our new grandbaby.

Feeling Older?

Some of the things within and around me are reminding me that I just may be getting somewhat older. Examples: - I wear a slumber cap to bed. - I'm eating more beans. - I eat early in the day, then may have cereal before bed. - I sit on the front porch and watch the kids play. - I do not feel like I am heard (this may not be an old thing, but a realization of my current situation.) And the brighter side: - I have taught my grandkids the Bean Song. Yes, I know you know it too and probably will sing it the rest of the day... beans, beans the musical fruit.... the more you eat... - the grandkids think I am fun, weird but fun. Playing in the mud is great because they are washable, so go ahead kids have fun. - I now get the senior discount when "The Girls" and I go to Village Inn and I do not have to ask. The other 5 are not even asked. Did I mention I am the youngest of the 6. But like this barren tree, I see a lot of character in the twists and turns of my life. I will cherish every minute.

Beauty Day

Kylie and I are having Beauty Day - hot oil treatments. While I was oiling up her hair she colored this picture from Toy Story 3. WOW - 7 hours and 4 minutes we can wash this stuff out. Hope your day is not a crabby one. Update: Kylie painted hers and my fingernails Florescent Yellow. Just 4 and 1/2 hours until we can wash our hair.

Great Oven

We are liking the new oven and learning to cook again. The new stove works better and keeps the temp. We like the high output burners or quick boil burners. There is also a simmer burner - have not used it yet. The griddle burner is awesome. We are spoiled. The girls have several soccer games played and they are doing good. Hayli played goalie and was awesome. Kylie saved a ball from scoring against her team. Kylie thinks her team is the "Tormatoes". We have tried to tell her it is the "Tornados", but in her mind we are wrong.

Who's Cookin

Wild day yesterday. Both girls soccer games rained out. Good for us, because we were not sure how to be at 2 different locations at the same time.
Woke up and started heating the oven for some yummy blueberry filled breakfast bites. After 20 minutes there was no familiar beep to say start cooking. Opened the oven to a chilly breeze as the door was opened. A song came to mind... "Happy Birthday to me". Not wanting to shop with children yesterday. we got up and arrived at Lowes this am as the doors opened. We were back home before the snow started. Joe and I are excited for the arrival tomorrow. We both love yo bake and cook and this will be a great addition to our kitchen. Here is a pic of our new stove.

Muddy Fun. Why not?

We have had two soccer practices rained out which equals two disappointed girls. Their first games are on the 26th. I am disappointed in our lack of rain. I think all kids should be able to play in the mud. You can slide them into a trash bags, buckle them in the car, take them home, and hose them off. As we all know kids are washable, just like their clothes.

Let's Play Soccer.

Hayli and Kylie are signed up for soccer at the YMCA. They are very excited to get started. Grandpa filled their soccer ball and they have begun practicing.
I have been busy playing and learning my iPod.
What a great thing! Thank you Mr. Jobs!
